Committed to bringing hope to their community during these uncertain times, Bethel Family Worship Center linked arms with more than 20 community and civic organizations, ministries, and businesses for a free drive-through event, “Because We Care,” on Sunday, Sept. 27. Held in the parking lot of Ruskin High School, it was a special effort to provide essential items to families in need who live in the Hickman Mills School District. Essentials included face masks, underwear, socks, soap, tissue, paper towels, toothpaste, and more.
“The Hickman Mills School District serves over 5,000 students, many of whom are in need of basic items that others can take for granted,” said Pastor Dennis Lester, Jr., Bethel Family Worship Center. “Our goal with this collaborative event is to let those children, and their families, know that we care about them. This is especially important during this time of Covid-19 that has created so much uncertainty and despair.”
